He was predeceased by: his parents, James Rohrer and Priscilla Rohrer (DeWard); his grandson Alex Chappie; and his siblings, Dorothy Hartman and Bruce Rohrer.

He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Leist; his daughter Julie Rohrer of Plainwell; his grandsons, Matthew Chappie and Gregory Chappie; his brother James Rohrer (Thelma); his stepchildren, Mark Hoogerheide (Shelley) of Kalamazoo, Paul Hoogerheide (Mary) of Bellflower, CA, David Hoogerheide of Kalamazoo and Dawn Fierke (Charles) of Kalamazoo; and his stepgrandchildren, Jessica, Stephanie, Kristen, Allison, David, Andrew, Anna, Austin, Kenneth and Elizabeth. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and many friends.
