Age 67, passed away Thursday morning, March 21, 2024. Bob was born in Kalamazoo on September 18, 1956, the son of Kurt H. and June M. (Prak) Groggel Jr. On June 2, 1979, he married Catherine "Cathy" Wagner who survives him. Bob worked as a pharmacy tech at Bronson Hospital and West Michigan Cancer Center. Bob played wheelchair basketball for over 30 years, having played on the U.S.A paralympic team, with which he traveled twice to England and once to Brazil where they won medals. He was a strong and determined individual who never let his disability get him down. Bob enjoyed reading and spent a lot of time at the library finding good books. He loved his family very much and was very proud of his son. Besides his wife, Bob is survived by a son, Benjamin (Stephanie) Groggel of Kalamazoo; siblings, Larry (Sue) Groggel, Linda (Bill) Dominguez, Bill (Dale) Groggel, Kurt Groggel III, Ken (Julie) Groggel, and Tim (Annette) Groggel; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
