He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Sears and Norma Sears (Cushing); his siblings, Sonia Sears and Alfred Sears, Jr.; his children, Candi Geter, Jason Sears and Amanda Sears; his grandchildren, Jacob, Sonia, Shane, Jason, Jr., Collin, Anastasia, Anthony, Christopher and Stephanie; his siblings, Dennis Sears (Marsha) and Marlene Barrett; and his nephews, Justin Jones and Al Fishwick.
