Patrick M. Jones Obituary

A memorial service will be held on December 6th at 1pm, at St Luke's Episcopal Church. The family plans a celebration of life in the spring/summer of 2025.

Patrick Merrill Jones, age 93, left this world gently on Sunday November 24, 2024.
Patrick was a deep intellect, a theologian, well-read, politically engaged, and unfailingly
kind. He served as a toxicologist with the Upjohn Company, earned a Master's degree in
psychology at Western Michigan University, taught at Nazareth College and WMU, and
counseled students at Kalamazoo College.
Patrick was a deeply spiritual man who strove to create a mindful connection with
everyone he met. He was a profoundly grateful person who appreciated the source of
wonder that exists in the natural world, found joy and inspiration exploring philosophical
concepts with his students, and cherished his family– his wife Celeste, whom he loved
deeply and tenderly for 54 years of marriage, and his children, grands, and great-grands
who fondly called him "Pops."
Patrick will be dearly missed by sons Greg Jones (Jane Donovan) and Mark Jones
(Kathleen O'Brien); Celeste's children Shelley (Bob) Gove and Douglas (Barbara)
Andrews; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews. He was preceded by his parents James and Dora (Loranger) Jones, sister
Nancy, and brothers Don and Russell.
