Nancy Woodruff Obituary
Nancy A. (Gates) Woodruff of Kalamazoo MI age 66 unexpectedly passed away peacefully surrounded by family on 2-11-22 she was born to William and Dorothy Gates on February 7 1956 in Kalamazoo MI. Nancy was the youngest of 4 children. Raised in Parchment Michigan. She was a 1974 graduate of Parchment High School. Nancy was married to Walter Woodruff Jr for the last 22 years. Nancy was predominantly a home maker but did work for GM and American Greetings. Nancy enjoyed being a homemaker and was the best at this. She was a very involved room mother at her children's schools and was loved and adored by staff and students. She treated her children's friends as her own. Welcomed, loved and even given a good talking to if needed. No one went hungry at Nancy's house.
Nancy enjoyed the simple things in life like cleaning her house, watching the stories and talking on the phone however her great grandchildren brightened her days most of all. She loved going to the casino with her sister Mary Lou and her BFF Darlene. She spent many evenings playing bingo and cards with her friends. Nancy was very lucky at Bingo and often won the cover-all. She also spent time on bowling leagues.
Nancy had a heart of gold but if she was angered or didn't agree with you on something she wouldn't hesitate to speak her mind in a hot minute and never agreed with the weatherman. Nancy had the most colorful language of anyone you'd meet.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 22 years, Walter Woodruff Jr her beloved children Wendy Worden and Charles (Becki) Worden all of Kalamazoo MI. Siblings Mary Lou Verburg Kalamazoo, Laura (Phil) Suglia of Plainwell, and William (Debbie) Gates of Wisconsin.
