Nancy O. Craig Obituary

Age 93, passed away surrounded by loved ones at her home after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Decatur, Alabama, on January 24, 1930, the daughter of the late Lenard and Ida (Royer) Stroup. Nancy was kind, genuine and loving. She worked hard to provide a happy home for her family, retiring from the James River Paper Company. Nancy was fiercely independent and was never one to stay still. She enjoyed working outdoors in her flower garden, lived in her own home and was never afraid to do the hard work that might be needed. She believed in the Lord and attended the Baptist church. Above all Nancy loved her family and was especially proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her smile, firm honesty and laughter will be missed by those who loved her. She is survived by four children, Sandra Craig, Bruce (Cheri) Craig, Victor (Nancy) Craig, Brian (Diane) Craig; eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was also preceded in passing by three siblings, J.T. Stroup, Margorie Ledlow and Corrine Jackson. In accordance with her wish cremation will take place and private family services will be held. Memorial contributions may be given to Centrica Care Navigators Hospice, c/o the funeral home.
