She was predeceased by: her parents, William Waldrop and Effie Grace Waldrop (Dietz); her former husband Gerald "Jerry"; and her son Tony Gibson. She is survived by: her husband Degree of Olivet College; her sons, Michael Wiers (Melissa) and Mark Wiers (Janie); her grandchildren, Steven Wiers (Emily Wise), Ashlyn Wiers, Logan Wiers, Morgan Wiers, Jake Gibson, Maria Gibson, Paul Gibson, Becca Mastin (Michael Schultes) and Travis Jones; her daughter-in-law Tammie Gibson-Lea; and her close friend Larry Hoekstra.

If desired, the family suggests memorial contributions to The Alzheimer's Association.
