Mildred I. Skelton Obituary
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Comstock Cemetery, 5900 Oran Ave., Kalamazoo. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home, 917 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to, Centrica Care Navigators, in c/o the funeral home.
Age 82, passed away Friday night, September 29, 2023. Mildred was born in Carroway AR, on February 13, 1941, the daughter of the late Lenial B. and Kate (Flowers) Hambright. She was married to Jimmy Ray Skelton who preceded her in death in 2013. Mildred was artistic and enjoyed doing ceramics. She also liked playing Bingo. Mildred was also an avid reader. She always put others before herself. Mildred is survived by grandchildren, Rob (Stephanie) Stanley and Linda (Dustin) Sawyer; son-in-law, Claude (Martha) Stanley; sister, Shirley (Augustine) Sanchez; brothers, Bill (Sandy) Hambright, Wayne (Tami) Hambright and Ronald Hambright; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; step-daughter, Marie; sister, Wanda Meade; infant sister, Sharon Kay Hambright.
