It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Anderson of Kalamazoo, Michigan, who passed away on January 2, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Lawrence S. Anderson; his former wife Catherine Anderson (Atkinson); his mother Evelyn Leone Fulbright (Briley); his sister Barbara J. Gobel (Anderson); his stepparents, Marion Millhouse Mattes and James D. Fulbright; and his stepbrother Charles Millhouse Mattes.
He is survived by: his daughter Andrea N. Anderson; his wife Christine "Deena" Anderson (Hickok); his daughter Caroline N. Anderson-Kerney (Eric); his stepsister Susan Coash (Mattes); his half-brothers, Bruce Fulbright and David Fulbright; his stepsons, Matthew Hickok (Betsy) and Ross Hickok (Erica); and his grandchildren, Tove Kerney, Matthew, Liberty Hickok, Justin and Jacob Souza. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM and on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Avink, McCowen & Secord Funeral Home - Portage (5975 Lovers Ln, Portage, MI 49002). A Mass was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (5855 East St, Vicksburg, MI 49097).
