She was predeceased by: her parents, Houston King, Sr. and Lou Ella Wilborn; her son James Arthur; her husband Matthew Porter; her sons, Bruce, Mack and Tracy; her brother Joe Willie Freeman; and her aunts, Gracie Simmons, E. Margie Phillips, Ardella White, Mary Wilson and Dollie McGrew.
She is survived by: her children, Gladys Carter of Chicago, IL, Sherry Porter of Kalamazoo, Luedora Porter of Kalamazoo and Donald Cain of Grand Rapids, Michigan; her grandson Jerome Kin; and her goddaughters, Mamie Day and Emma Jean Bailey. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
