Mary C. List Obituary

A memorial gathering will be held at a future date. Memorial contributions may be given to Kalamazoo Public Library or to a local animal rescue, in c/o the funeral home.

Age 67 of Kalamazoo, passed away on October 14, 2024. Mary was born in Kalamazoo on August 1, 1957, the daughter of Everett and Joan (Thelen) List. Mary loved to sing and had been a member of the choir at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, where she was a member. She also had been active in the Kalamazoo Sacred Harp Society. Mary was an avid reader. Her love of words spilled over into a love of writing. She loved the color blue. Mary loved animals and was always sensitive to the passing of friend's pets. Mary is survived by her siblings, Michael (Candy) List, Patrick List, Kathleen (Paul) Chen, Joseph List, Eric List, Maureen (James) Hohler; many nieces, nephews; and countless friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Timothy List; sister, Colleen Dees; brother-in-law, Mike Dees.
