She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Marshall VanSchouwen and Alyda VanSchouwen (Zeldenrust); her husband Art; her children, Wayne Meinema (Michelle), Karen Diephuis (Bill), Renee Stilson (Tom) and Dale Meinema (Tabitha); and her siblings, Jack VanSchouwen (Joy), Marvin VanSchouwen (Laurie), Nellie Bultema (Dan) and Grace Leep. She was also cherished by 12 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
