She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter VanderRoest and Marie VanderRoest (Landt); and her sisters, Patricia VanderRoest and Kathleen Hartman. She is survived by: her father-in-law John T. Smith; her children, Steven Smith (Julia), Julie Tanner (Kevin) and Scott Smith (Suzanne); her grandchildren, Lucianna "Lucy" Tanner, Sam Tanner and Russ Tanner; her sister Karen Medema (Ken); and her brother-in-law Jack Hartman. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
