She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, James Carney and Lucille Carney; her sister Patsy; her husband William Richard Higgins of Chicago; her daughters, Patricia Higgins and Susan Swigert (Kim); her grandchildren, Madalyn Tackett (Todd), Joshua Sellers, Jonathan Swigert (Nicole), Michael Swigert (Jessica) and Jennifer Den Herder (Mark); and her great grandchildren, Cole, Mia Tackett, Joslyn, Grant Den Herder and Lyla Swigert.
Madalyn worked for Whirlpool Corporation for 30 years with many jobs and responsibilities, ultimately retiring an as an officer of the Whirlpool Foundation.
