A Celebration of Lorenzo's Life will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at New Life Church, 5115 Portage Rd., Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, in c/o the funeral home.
Age 47, passed away Tuesday morning, September 5, 2023. Lorenzo was born in Flint, MI, on January 23, 1976, the son of Alexander Oscar Neloms and Dorothy Jefferson. On August 8, 2014, he married Dana L. Toops, who survives him. Lorenzo was a 1994 graduate of Traverse City High School. He was employed at Eimo Technologies. In his spare time, Lorenzo enjoyed working on cars and taking long rides with his wife. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a huge University of Michigan Wolverine football fan. In 2012, he went to his first tailgating party when the Uof M was playing Notre Dame. They had lived in a house divided, as Dana was a Notre Dame fan. Lorenzo was a part of the Kalamazoo Camaro Club. Camaros and Corvettes were always his favorite cars. Besides his wife, Lorenzo is survived by his mother, Dorothy Jefferson; his father, Alexander Neloms; sisters, Ayanna McAdory and Leah McGinley; mother in law, Becky Toops; father in law Frank (Mary) Toops; brothers in law, Bill Toops and Frank (Sarah) Topor; nephews, Greg Horn Jr., Tarik Ross, Jarrett Toops; niece, Erika (Jordan Lewis) Toops; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and countless friends including his best friends, Chris Jager and Cameron Wiley; and his Traverse City family. Lorenzo was preceded in death by his sister, Tara Roshelle Jefferson-Edwards; and a brother Arenzo Ware.
