Lois O. Brightwell Obituary
A funeral service to honor her memory will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Cliff Plummer officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to East Main Church of Christ, c/o the funeral home.
Age 100, passed away on April 27, 2024. She was born in the small town of Poughkeepsie, AR, on March 6, 1924, the daughter of the late Shelby and Cammie (Smith) Medlock. At the age of fourteen she met her 15-year-old future husband, Forrest (Red) Brightwell at a county fair. On October 6, 1942, they began a sixty-five-year journey in marriage. She was raised in a Christian home and developed a deep faith in Jesus Christ to be her Lord and Savior. She became a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Lois was always cheerful and thoughtful. Her infectious smile warmed the hearts of those around her and made everyone feel welcome. She loved everyone she met, especially young children. She was selfless and volunteered countless hours with the March of Dimes, School PTA, as a Cub Scout Den Mother and Eastwood Little League Baseball Ice Cream Socials. Lois was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed. She is survived by two sons, Wayne (Mary) Brightwell, Ken Brightwell; three grandchildren, Angela, Christopher and Amy Alana Knight. She was preceded in passing by a daughter-in-law, Nancy Brightwell.
