Laura A. Gill Obituary
Following her wishes, cremation will take place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to CASA for Kids, Inc., in c/o the funeral home.
Mrs. Laura Ann Gill (60) passed away peacefully on September 22nd, 2024, in her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Laura was born on August 20th, 1964, to James and Judy Newton in Kalamazoo Michigan. Laura grew up in Kalamazoo Michigan and attended Kalamazoo Central High School. At the age of 15, Laura began working at Borgess Medical Center where she met the love of her life Gary Gill. They were married on May 10th, 1985, and into this union, bared 5 daughters.
Laura was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, family vacations to Las Vegas, and spending time outdoors. She was full of love, compassion, and strength and took on a motherly role to many people who crossed her path. Laura's heart and home were a safe- space for anyone who needed it and was often the center for family gatherings. Laura's greatest accomplishment was her family. She loved them dearly and poured into them, as she understood the value of time and lived each day to the fullest. She will truly be missed by those whose lives she touched.
Laura leaves behind to cherish her five daughters. Nicole Gill, Jennifer Gill, Tiffany Gill, Danielle Gill and Allisha Gill. Nine Grandchildren, Tamia Dunigan, Arionna Gill, B.J. Wogoman, Lariyah Allen, Nevaeh Kent, Natalie Frank, Nasiya Kelly, Nariyel Gill, and Del'miya Robinson. Three Great-Grandchildren Karmelo Matthews, Rhylee, and Rhylo Hatcher. Two Sisters, Tracy Newton and Kim Holt (John Holt). Two Brothers, James Newton (Meesina Newton) and Jeff Newton (Kristie Newton). Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Laura was preceded in death by her husband Gary Gill, her father and mother, James and Judy Newton, her three grandsons, Michael, A'metrius, Erving Dunigan, and many other loving family members and friends.
