In accordance with her wish cremation will take place and family services will be held at a later date. Memorial may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, c/o the funeral home.
Age 36, passed away at her home on January 25, 2024. She was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on December 4, 1987, the daughter of the late James and Deborah (Faulkner) Nuyen. Krista was kind and loving and was a joy to know. She had a fun spirited attitude and always looked on the brighter side of life. She graduated from Comstock High School, Class of 2006. She remained in Southwest Michigan. She was a loyal UofM fan and enjoyed spending Saturdays at The Big House! She loved sunshine and beaches and spent many days on the shores of South Haven. When diagnosed with leukemia, her outlook and joy for life never wavered and she battled through her treatments. She found a fondness for the simple things in life and liked to take walks and spend time in nature. Above all Krista loved her family and her friends. She was especially close with her nieces and nephews, and she leaves behind many wonderful memories to cherish. Krista is survived by three siblings, Thomas Cook, Michael (Stacy) Cook and Kelsea Nuyen; nieces and nephews, Alexis Greenwood, David and Anthony Cook, Jada and Mikey Cook, Kiarah Grills, John, Ryan and Trista Esman; other extended family and friends. She was also preceded in passing by a brother, David Cook.
