He was predeceased by: his grandsons, C. J. Henton and Kenneth Jones; and his siblings, Norman Fryling and Jacqueline Fryling. He is survived by: his son Cleo Fryling (Smith); his wife Velma Sue Beal; his grandchildren, Laureli, Kristin, Andrea, Nathan, Riley and Remiel; his great grandchildren, Samuel, Kurtis and Benjamin; and his sister Janice Abbate of Portage. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and other extended family; and countless friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors, in c/o the funeral home.
