Per Kathy's wishes, cremation has taken place and no memorial service will be held. An organization that was close to her heart is Doctor's Without Borders. Donations can be made via their website, telephone or mail.

ROWAN, Kathryn "Kathy" Kalamazoo.

Age 74, departed this world on May 18, 2023 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Kathy entered this world on December 14, 1948 in Muskegon, Michigan. She was raised in Montague, Michigan and graduated from Montague High School in 1967. Kathy owes her love of classical music to Mr. Carl Bjerregaard, who was Montague's music director from 1953 to 1963, and her love of Classic Rock music to Bob Seger. She retired from Michigan CAT (Caterpillar heavy-equipment dealership) in 2004. Kathy enjoyed music, movies, jigsaw puzzles, knitting and researching family genealogy.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert Benjamin and Thelma May (Cady) Rowan; maternal grandparents, Frank L. and Mary A. "Verta" (Myers) Cady; paternal grandparents, Benjamin Bernard Rowan and Melva May (Hunt) Crowle; paternal step-grandfather, James Frank Crowle; half-sister, Melva Ann (Rowan) Bronkhorst; half-brother, Patrick Michael Cregg; sister in-law, Jo Ann Cregg; niece, Colleen Marie (Cregg) Jerome and her husband, John Douglas Jerome; maternal aunt, Virginia Ann (Cady) Shaw; and great-niece, Jordan Larie Barce.

She is survived by her sister, Lynne B. Rowan of Grand Rapids; half-brother, Jon Thomas Cregg and his wife, Pauline Kay (Wallace) Cregg of Muskegon; half-sister, Melva Bronkhorst's husband, Roger Lee Bronkhorst of Holland; four generations of the most fabulous cousins, nieces and nephews; and friends, Nancy Schwalm of Traverse City and Arnie Strouse of Brooklyn, WI.
