We are sad to announce that on April 2, 2023, at the age of 70, Kathleen Doornbos of Kalamazoo, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Gerald Doornbos and Wilma Doornbos. She is survived by: her brother Bernie (Donna Doornbos); her nieces and nephews, Chad, Kris Doornbos, Daryl, Charity Doornbos, Kristen and Jeff Brink; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Jacob Doornbos, Andrew Doornbos, Hannah Doornbos, Madeline Brink and Isabelle Brink. She is also survived by many loving extended family members and friends.

“When my mom first moved to Story Point, she and Kathy were both on the 3rd floor and Kathy really looked out for my mom. One time when I came to pick up my mom for an appointment, she wasn't waiting for me in the lobby, which was unusual for her. Kathy offered to go upstairs to check on her for me. Afterward she told me she was nervous to do that, not knowing if my mom was OK or not. My mom always enjoyed her friendship with Kathy and I hope they're having a nice heavenly reunion.”
