He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Milton Jerkins and Nelly May Jerkins (Windibank); his brother Jack E. Pearson; and his former wife Carolyn A. Jerkins. He is survived by: his children, Jacqueline M. Ripley of Kalamazoo, Joseph M. Jerkins (Christina) of San Francisco, CA and Dr. Julie M. Jerkins of San Diego, CA; his grandchildren, Irene Lyell (Ross) of Atlanta, GA, Dr. Lauren Ripley (Brad Elliston) of Royal Oak, MI and Joseph W. Jerkins of Cambridge, MA; and his great grandchild Lydia Jane Elliston. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
