It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John William Schaap (Kalamazoo, Michigan), born in Comstock, Michigan, who passed away on February 6, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Schaap and Dena Schaap (Slager); his wife Betty (Meints); his son-in-law Denis Buckmaster; and his siblings, Anne, Grace, James and Robert.
He is survived by: his children, Donald Schaap (Janice), Carol DeYoung (Bert), Mary Buckmaster, Linda VanSweden (James) and Joy Schaap-Farmer (Lee); his sister Eleanor Doorn (Roger); and his sister-in-law June Meints. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.
Memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Christian Schools or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
