She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Marinus and Gertrude Weststrate (Scholten); her husband Ivan Simkins; her son John H. Simkins (Butch); her siblings, Marie Snell, Helena Weststrate, Lena VanOosterum, Gerard (Gare), Willem (Bill), Jan (Johnny), Hendrik (Henry), Johannus (John) and Adrian (Bud); her daughter Dixie Gates (Alan); her daughter-in-law Karen Simkins; her grandsons, Ivan Simkins (Trina) and Kevin Simkins; her great grandchildren, Matthew Simkins (Jackie), Brittany Brooks (Seth), Maegan Simkins, Kayli Simkins and Johnathan Simkins; her great great grandchildren, Kenslee Simkins and Carlin Simkins; and her sisters-in-law, Florene Weststrate and Frances Weststrate. She was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
