He was predeceased by: his parents, Aneta Buchanan and James Y. Buchanan; and his sisters, Rae Thomas and Yvonne Merrill. He is survived by: his wife Pamela; his daughter Laurin Buchanan; and his son-in-law Geoffrey Boughton.

Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, a celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
