He is survived by: his children, Mary Elizabeth of Kalamazoo and Laurie Kathleen of Kalamazoo; his wife Ruby Hodges (Saginaw); his daughter Julie Cain-Derouin (John) of Kalamazoo; his grandchildren, Dr. Katherine Shuster (Joshua Kiel) of Mt. Juliet, TN, Levi Cain (Rachel) of Hudsonville, MI, Ebiri Nkugba (Alicia) of Grand Rapids, MI, James Shuster (Melody Lyee) of Bellevue, WA, Sam Derouin (Ksenia) of Ada, MI and Will Derouin (Michele) of Suttons Bay, MI; his great grandchildren, Zacchaeus and Atticus Cain; and his grandchildren, Zion, Shiloh, Maya Nkugba, Arthur, Lucas Derouin, Eliana Kiel and Leo Shuster.
