It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Marie Hokenson of Kalamazoo, Michigan, who passed away on August 15, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hulda Forsgren and Gustav Forsgren; her siblings, Ken, Dorothy, Howard and Ralph; her son James; her daughter-in-law Karen; and her grandson Michael Hokenson.
She is survived by: her children, Gregory, Stina (San Francisco) and Steven (Miami); her husband Rod Hokenson; her daughter-in-law Adrianna (Steve); and her grandchildren, Sarah Therkildsen (Eric), Grace Schneider (Luke), Jennifer Henderson (Matt) of Grand Rapids, Mark McRae-Hokenson of Seattle and Peter McRae-Hokenson of Minneapolis, MN. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Lenawee Habitat for Humanity, Lutheran World Relief, the Maui Food Bank or any Maui Relief.
