Passed away Saturday afternoon, July 13, 2024. Harold was born in Kalamazoo on April 5, 1933, the son of Harold Clayton and Jeanette (Tuin) Brininger Sr. On December 5, 1952, he married Mary Montora Oswalt, who survives him. Harold was a graduate of Mattawan High School, graduating in 1950. Harold proudly served his nation in the United States Army from 1953-1955. He worked for 30 years for Fuller Manufacturing, which later became Eaton, retiring in 1981, at the age of 48. He owned his own businesses in which he sold bicycles and snowmobiles. He was also a landlord for several rental properties in the area. He also enjoyed selling at the Shipshewana Flea Market. Harold was an avid deer hunter. He loved the outdoors and spending time in his garden. In later years, he and Mary enjoyed going to Arizona for the winter. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son James "Doug" Brininger of Paw Paw; daughter in law, Dawn Brininger; grandchildren, Brad (Kelly) Petersen, Randy (Jessica) Brininger, Jamie Brininger, Jennifer Brininger and Amy Buck; many great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma (Louie) Klok; brothers, Jack (Kaye) Brininger; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jeanette "Nettie" Barraia in 2022; son, Jeff Brininger in 2023; brother, Richard Brininger; sister, Carol Bonarski.
