He is survived by: his children, Debra Damstra (Mike) and David Doorlag (Nancy); his grandchildren, Derek Damstra (Erin), Marc Damstra (Julie), Kylee Theule (Jake), Alex Doorlag and Austin Doorlag; and his siblings, Rena VanZee and Al Doorlag. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
