Gerry L. Martz Obituary

Age 70, passed away at Life Care Center of Plainwell on July 6, 2023. He was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on April 10, 1953, the son of the late Austin Murray and Janice Hyatt. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central, attended some college and enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served our country until being honorably discharged. He would return to make Kalamazoo his home. Gerry was a hard worker and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved electronics, woodworking, "VW Bugs", Legos and anything that sparked his interest. He loved animals and was close with his loyal dog "Radar". Above all Gerry loved his family and leaves them with many memories to cherish. On July 18, 1992, he married Sally (Waber) Martz who preceded him in passing in 2021. He is survived by his children, Becky Luna, James Martz, Heather (Jimmy) Putman, Steven Carrier, Marrianne (Michael) Dyre, Jason Martz, Heather Martz and Brandon (Brandi) Gossett; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Darleen (James) Blanchard; beloved in-laws; several nieces, nephews and friends. He was also preceded in passing by his brothers, Randy, Terry, Harold and Garold.
