Gerald A. Rininger Obituary

Age 84, passed away at his home in Almena Township on March 14, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Kalamazoo, on November 30, 1940, the son of the late Walter and Beatrice Rininger. Gerald was kind, friendly and generous. He had an outgoing personality and was a joy to know. He worked hard to provide for his family as a truck driver for more than forty-two years and was a member of the Teamsters Local 7 in Kalamazoo. When not working and during his retirement he enjoyed starting his day at the Almena Downtown Take Out where he helped open the shop and get the coffee going as he waited to visit with customers, he called friends. He was a member of both the Allegan County and Lawton Snowmobile Club. He was passionate about street rods, enjoyed attending car shows and was in the process of restoring a couple of Cadillacs. He was also a member of the American Dexter Cattle Association for over twenty years and an auxiliary member of the Marcellus VFW Post 4054. For more than ten years Gerald loved hosting his annual Octoberfest where hayrides, cow train rides, food and entertainment abound. He also enjoyed hosting weekend bonfires where family and friends would gather to laugh, enjoy fellowship and solve "world problems". Above all Gerald loved his family and his smile, laughter and love will be missed. He is survived by his wife Linda Rininger; three children, Deb Rininger, Dale (Cab) Rininger and Ted (Rhonda) Rininger; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was also preceded in passing by two sisters, Dixie Gonzales, Carol Shannon Rininger; a brother, David Rininger.
