Age 89, passed away late Friday evening, March 15, 2024. George was born in Kalamazoo, on November 29, 1934, the son of Cecil Seth and Margaret Alice (Bourner) Lockner. George proudly served his nation in the Army National Guard. On March 3, 1954, he married Marlene Ellen Hazen who preceded him in death on June 1, 2019. They were married for 65 years. Together they enjoyed travelling. They liked wintering in Naples FL, several years until it became too difficult for Marlene to travel. George had worked for many years as a Foreman at Georgia-Pacific Paper. He never missed a day of work. George was an avid fisherman. He loved working in the yard and being outdoors. In his later years he enjoyed visiting the casinos. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. George is survived by his son, Steven Lockner; son-in-law, Barry Anderson; granddaughters, Stacey, Rhea and Brittany; three great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Jackson; nieces and nephews and many friends. Besides his wife, George was preceded in death by his parents; son, Phillip Lockner; daughters, Barbara Anderson and Debra Hardin; eight sisters and a brother.
