George O. Ratliff Obituary

Age 83, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, February 11, 2024, from complications of diabetes. George was born in West Jefferson, OH, on August 7, 1940, the first child of George R. and Marion Louise (Burt) Ratliff. Two brothers and one sister soon followed, all deceased. George served four years in the U.S. Air Force, a fact he was always most proud of. His wife of 50 years, Mary Jo Ratliff, survives him. George worked for over 20 years at the Master Craft Corporation in Kalamazoo, and then spent several years as an employee of the Kalamazoo Metal Recyclers, also in Kalamazoo. His favorite past times included bowling and going for weekend drives all over Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. Besides his wife, George is survived by a son, Christian G. Ratliff of Kalamazoo; a daughter, Ann Louise Ratliff; five other stepchildren; three grandchildren; eighteen step-grandchildren; twenty-three step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Besides his parents and siblings, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Bambi Allen; and a step-son Richard L. Wilson Jr.
