He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Gariepy and Emma Gariepy (Gauthier); his wife Beverly; and his siblings, Theo, Leo, Emma and Viola.

He is survived by: his sons, David Gariepy (Lura) of Kalamazoo and Derek Gariepy of Kalamazoo; and his grandchildren, Emma, Adrian, Fiona and Tess. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family.
