He was predeceased by: his brother Michael; his grandparents, John Sayre, Fred Veld, Jerry Smith, Evelyn Smith and Ruth Veld; and his stepbrother Ernie Fluty.
He is survived by: his parents, Dianne Sayre-Fluty (Jerry) and Robert Smith; his siblings, Stacy Lohroff (Aaron) and Christopher Smith (Laura Bolen); his nieces and nephews, Sydney, Ashley of Christal, C. J., Nolan and Sloane; and also Christopher.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 4th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services (3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009). A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 5th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the New Apostolic Church (3600 W Milham Ave, Portage, MI 49024).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Rose Arbor Hospice.
