It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emma Harris of Kalamazoo, Michigan, born in Willisville, Arkansas, who passed away on August 4, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvanie Moss and Reverend Melvin Moss; and her brothers, Luther "Ray" Moss, Ernest Moss and Reuben "Billy" Moss.
She is survived by: her children, Barry Harris of Battle Creek, MI and Talana Calvin of Kalamazoo, MI; her grandchildren, Baron Coles of Ann Arbor, MI, Mycal Harris of Battle Creek, MI, Gabriella Buffington of Atlanta, GA, Caleb Calvin of Kalamazoo, MI and Noah Calvin of Kalamazoo, MI; her great grandchildren, Aiden Cadwell, Mycal Harris Jr. and Ariah Harris; her sister Irma Prude (Robert); her sisters-in-law, Thelma Moss and Rolinda Moss; and her friend Dr. Natalie M. Russell.
During the beginning of the pandemic, Emma also made free masks to be given to the patients and visitors at the Family Health Center in Kalamazoo, MI.
