NEWELL, Elana L. Kalamazoo It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Elana Newell, age 61, who departed this world on January 26, 2024. Her spirit touched the lives of those who knew her, she will be remembered for her joyful laugh, big smile, and love of family.

Elana was born on December 5, 1962, in Kalamazoo, MI to Eileen and Bertran Roelofs.

Elana is survived by her daughter, Mykel Newell (Robbert Jarnagin); brother, Barry Roelofs; sister, Colleen Issa; grandchildren, Evelynn and Asher; nieces and nephew, Brittany Roelofs, Iman Issa, and Brock Roelofs; who are navigating the complexities of this unexpected loss. She is also remembered by her wide circle of friends.

The passing of Elana has left a profound impact on all who knew her. As we bid farewell, let us find solace in the cherished memories we hold, knowing that her spirit is finally free from pain, leaving an enduring impact on all who were lucky enough to know her.
