She was predeceased by: her parents, Otis Scurlock, Sr. and Sleaner Blue; and her husband Earnest Reed, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Etta Reed of Kalamazoo, Pambla Reed of Kalamazoo, Otila Reed of Wentzville, MO, Earnest Reed (Jacqueline) of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Jimmie Reed of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Bernie Gorden of Kalamazoo, Tony Rawls of Kalamazoo and Vickie Russell of Kalamazoo; her siblings, L. C. Blue, Jr., Michael Scurlock, Mitchell Scurlock, Avery Garfield, Lorianne Jones, Mae Ide Lewis, Annie McKillion, Patricia Garfield, Rochell Scurlock and Cathy Scurlock; and her close friends, Lorene Phillips of Kalamazoo, Sandy Sherrod of Kalamazoo and Evelyn Reese of Kalamazoo. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Harper Funeral Home - Chapel (521 Douglas Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49006).
