He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Smith and Florence Smith (Shepherd); and his former wife Kathleen Herp-Smith. He is survived by: his stepsons, Brandon Herp of Oshtemo, Chad Brenner of Otsego and Jason Brenner (Jennifer) of Otsego; his grandchildren, Christopher, Donavan and Makayla; and his siblings, Glenn (Daniel), Ronda (Wade) and Kim (Mark Smith). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
