In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place and she will be laid to rest privately at Oak Grove Cemetery in Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be given to Centrica Care Navigators Hospice, c/o the funeral home.

Dorothy (Dottie) Weese, age 76, passed away peacefully at home on October 29, 2024, surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with Dementia and Addison's Disease. Dottie was born in Galesburg, MI, on October 2, 1948, the daughter of the late John Hutson and Florence (Kinney) Roelof. Dottie graduated from Gull Lake High School in 1966, attended Andrew's University, and graduated from Loma Linda University in 1970. Dottie served as Pastor of her graduating class. Dottie worked as a dental hygienist for over 30 years in Kalamazoo and Battle Creek. Dottie was married to William Walter Weese from 1971-1998. He survives and continues to help oversee her support and care. They had two daughters, Emily (Marco) Juarez of Fort Wayne, IN and Megan Weese-Smith (Richard) of Richland, MI. Dottie is also survived by seven grandchildren. Darrian Burkett, Zachary, Sophia, and Nico Juarez, Havyn, Elijah, and Kayden Smith. Three sisters, Donna Flint of Hendersonville, NC, Mary Yeast of Eden Prairie, MN, and Charlotte Anderson of Saginaw, MI and Lakeland, FL. And several nieces and nephews. For many years Dottie was very involved with The Tabernacle Seventh Day Adventist Church. She served as sabbath school leader and was involved with women's ministries. She was also very involved with the Home and School Association at Battle Creek Academy. Dottie loved to garden and took great pride in her flower gardens. She loved to read, do puzzles, and play games. Dottie loved her grandchildren and attended many of their sporting events.
