She was predeceased by: her parents, William McKinley and Myrtle Brown (Stevenson); her spouse Francis Carroll Ashley; and her siblings, Kenneth Lee and Shirley Brown.

She is survived by: her daughters, Carol Ashley of Otsego and Elizabeth "Beth" Ashley of Kalamazoo; and her granddaughter Ashley Carol Lokosky (Ken) of Centerburg, OH. She is also survived by nieces and nephews; many friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary, Kalamazoo Humane Society or the charity of one's choice.

“As a child I remember Dorothy’s welcoming smile and kind demeanor during our family trips to the west side. It was at Aunt Myrtle and Uncle Mack’s home that we would all meet for a meal and catching up on the latest details of our lives. Dorothy’s genuine interest made it fun to share some “embellished” stories with her of life on the St Clair River, where I grew up. It is no doubt she offered warmth to the people around her. Rest In Peace Dorothy”
