Donna G. Stearns Obituary

Age 82, of Kalamazoo passed away on Wednesday morning, October 9, 2024. Donna was born in Kalamazoo on September 24, 1942, the daughter of Vern and Maxine (Wilkins) Carr. Donna pursued an education to become a nurse, although she devoted her life to raising her children. She was an avid word game and Suduko player. She also enjoyed ceramic arts. Donna was a great seamstress and made a lot of her children's clothes over the years. She was a doting grandmother to her grandchildren. Right up until her death, she was very independent. She loved seeing her family and was always ready to go someplace, do something and have some fun with them. Donna is survived by her children, Laurie (Joan) Stearns, James Jr. (Laurie) Stearns, Jeffrey (Don) Stearns-Taylor; grandchildren, Emily Stearns and Ryan Stearns; siblings, Norma (Charlie) Futrell, Jackie (Steve) Szekely, Lori (Terry) Middaugh, Eleanor Jane Carr, Clair (Kim) Carr; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Donna was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ronald Carr; and her former husband, James Stearns Sr.
