Age 90, died peacefully on January 24, 2024. Dolores was born in Sanford, Florida on September 14, 1933, the daughter of the late Stephen and Etta (Ray) English. She spent much of her youth in Union Point, Georgia. Most recently, she resided in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she was a member of Second Reformed Church. Dolores attended Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, graduating in 1954 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. It was while attending Wesleyan College that she met her husband, George W.R. Davidson, Jr., who preceded her in death in 2012. Her most cherished memories were of the Conservatory, made permanent in her heart through a painting by artist, Sterling Everett. Dolores later received her master's degree in education from Mercer University – Macon in 1970. Dolores taught school, first with the Macon Public Schools and then at First Presbyterian Day School, until her retirement. During her retirement, Dolores enjoyed tennis and playing dulcimer with her band, The Gray Cat Gang. Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her youngest son, Robert Edward Davidson and her brother, Weyman Henry English. She is survived by her sons, George W. R. "Ray" Davidson III and Franklin Davidson of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Fred Davidson of Fort Worth, Texas; and grandchildren, George "Geordie" Davidson IV and Benjamin Davidson of Michigan and Robert Davidson, Steven Davidson and Logan Davidson of Texas and Sara Davidson of Nevada.
