He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Becky; his children, Ann Neyer (Steve Heller), Ed Van Alst (Julie), Andy Van Alst (Carrie Van Natter), Audrey Van Alst (Barry Tufford) and Matt Van Alst (Kathleen); his grandchildren, Natalie Schild (Rick), Kurtis Van Alst (Brooke), AJ Van Alst, Kassie Hearth (Ryan), Lizzie Nelson (Skyler), Marissa Pendrick (Ryan), Holly Smith, Katie Fisher (Frank) and Ryan Boyer (Jaime); and his great grandchildren, Margot, Eleanor Hearth, Archie Nelson and Kemper Pendrick.
A funeral service was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Ann Catholic Church (800 W 13th St, Cadillac, MI 49601-9281). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cadillac Area Community Foundation.
