She was predeceased by: her parents, Lindsay Stegall and Nancy Stegall; her husband Newessie Gardner Jr.; her siblings, Rosa Arnold and Fenis Harmon Jr.; her granddaughter Nikki NaTonya Gardner; and her son-in-law Rev. E. Allen Hayes.
She is survived by: her children, Clarence Gardner (Doreen), Cordell Gardner (Brenda), Newessie III Gardner (Cynthia) and Min; her niece Nancy Arnold of Miami, FL; and her grandchildren, Deveta Gardner, Deyette Gardner of Richardson, TX and Min. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
