He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Scheffers and Iris Scheffers (Courtney); his siblings, Arthur Scheffers and Marijane (Roger Buining); and his parents-in-law, Sue Branon (Dave), Mary Miller (Rob), Ann VanderMolen (Dan), Laurie Foster (Dan) and Ralph Tuttle, Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Carol; his daughter Tammy Reas (Jeff); his grandchildren, Ashley (Reza Khosh), Katie, Josh, Jill (Reas), Mason, Courtney (Scheffers), Drew, Alex, Dawit, Jared and Kylo; his great grandchildren, Danny and Lizzie; and his siblings, Jacob Scheffers (June) and Ruth Jepkema. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
