We are sad to announce that on April 22, 2021 we had to say goodbye to Daniel P. Hendriksen Sr. (Kalamazoo, Michigan), born in Zeeland, Michigan. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Daniel P. Hendriksen Sr. to show support.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hendriksen and Rena Hendriksen (Bakker); his siblings, Bernard Hendriksen and Geri Kerkstra; and his stepmother Reta Hendriksen.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Westendorp; his children, Dawn, Daniel, Jr. Hendriksen (Nancy) and Beth Hendriksen; his grandchildren, Hope Meador (Jeff), Shanna Trecker (Jamie), Hannah Hendriksen (Josh Moote), Jennie Hendriksen (Kyle Watkins), Hendrik and William "Bill" Kachoeff; and his great grandchildren, Cadence and Levi Meador. He is also survived by several in-laws and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family requests that those attending the service wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.

Memorial contributions in Dan's memory may be made to Crossroads Prison Ministries, Kalamazoo Literacy Council or Geneva Campus Ministry at the University of Iowa.

He was also a great neighbor. Bob and I walked with him on occasion and had some wonderful conversations. He told some very interesting stories. Dan is resting in his Father's arms now.
