Age 88, passed away at Vinyard Assisted Living on April 18, 2024, with loved ones by his side. He was born in Geneva, IL, on February 2, 1936, the son of the late Lester and Margaret (Cochran) Osborne. Chuck spent his youth in Geneva and after graduating high school enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War as a heavy machine operator. After being honorably discharged he returned to Illinois. On June 28, 1956, he married the love of his life Marjorie A. (Drysdale) Osborne who preceded him in passing in 2021. Chuck was kind, loving, extremely gifted and hard working. He had a keen business sense and was always involved in new ventures. He had a terrific sense of humor and could lighten the mood in any room. He loved social gatherings and meeting new people over a cocktail hour. Chuck was deeply involved in several organizations and clubs including the American Legion, 40&8, AMVETS, Elks, Moose Lodge and Free Masons. His dedication to these organizations will be missed. When not working he enjoyed boating and fishing, taking yearly trips to Canada to cast a line. He took time to vacation with Marjorie, and wintered in Cape Coral and Venice, Florida. Above all Chuck loved his family and his friends. He was especially proud of his daughters and was an involved grandfather who always enjoyed having a conversation with his grandchildren. Chuck leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived. His smile, laughter and genuine care will be missed. He is survived by two daughters, Holly (Scott) Osborne-Boyd and Penny Osborne; grandchildren, Brooke (Jon DeSantiago) Boyd and Carsen (Luke) Kiel; extended family and friends.
