It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charles LaVern Johnson (Kalamazoo, Michigan), who passed away on May 13, 2024, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Gus Johnson, Jr.; and his brother Eric Johnson. He is survived by: his mother Betty Kirk; his sons, Charles Johnson, Jr., Chazarae Johnson and Chalen Johnson; his siblings, Tina Menser (Thomas), Yancey Kirk, Jamal Perry, Kerry Perry and Anthony Gardner; and his aunt Mary Kate Gibson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
