He was predeceased by: his father Roy B. Howard Jr.; and his sister-in-law Carol Howard. He is survived by: his wife Kenna J. Howard; his children, Deborah Russon (Howard), Barbara (Howard), Chris Lee, Thomas and Abbie Howard; his grandchildren, Darren Howard (Karley), Jason Lee (Monica), Dustin Howard (Melissa), Sarah Pitcher (Freddy), Amber Lee (Manuel Montaño), Amanda Russon and Mackenzie Bogema (Joshua Shivley); his great grandchildren, Jamie Howard, Levi Howard, Elo Whitehead, Harrison Lee, Jaxon Pitcher, Zane Pitcher, Skylar Howard and Summer Howard; and his brothers, Roy Howard (Sandy) and Richard Howard.
